The historic Tongue River Ranch presents TRR HILLBILLY ROCK. Banjo is an exceptional 7-year-old red roan gelding standing 15.2 hands and weighing 1275 pounds. He has been used in all phases of ranch work from dragging calves, doctoring yearlings, prowling pastures and sorting cattle in the pens. Banjo also thrives in the arena, recently finishing 3rd in the XIT Cowboy Invitational NRCHA show in Las Vegas winning $3600. He has won multiple top horse awards including 2021 Reserve Top Horse at the WRCA World Championship Ranch Rodeo and 2022 San Antonio Ranch Rodeo Top Horse. A few of his other top horse awards include Saint Roost Jr Ranch Rodeo in 2020, 2021 Haskell Texas WRCA Ranch Rodeo, 2021 Cody Crockett Memorial Ranch Rodeo, 2021 Vega Ranch Rodeo, and 2022 Saint Roost Ranch Rodeo. He has $3000 in earnings in the Ranch Horse Association of America and was awarded Reserve Champion in the Ranch Hand class in 2021. Trainer Elwyn McCleskey, family and friends have all been to the pay window on both the head and heel side on Banjo. They have brought home saddles, buckles, and other trinkets to add to their collection of Banjo awards. Banjo was also used in the Ranch Girls Barrel Racing at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in 2022. His pedigree speaks volumes on why he is such a standout gelding. His sire CATS HILLBILLY is by the great cutting sire HIGH BROW CAT. On the dam’s side is PEPCID, Tongue River Ranch stallion that has multiple sons and daughters competing in all types of equine events. There are just too many qualities to list about this gelding but our favorite one is his versatility with all levels of riders.
