Oscar is a 7-year-old sorrel gelding that stands 15 hands and weighs 1,155 pounds. I have owned Oscar since the day he was weaned off the mare. I have done everything with him, from halter breaking to team roping and picking up bucking horses. I used him on a large yearling operation for two years where he performed while I roped and doctored many cattle by myself. Oscar has absolutely no funny business about him. He stands tied to the fence or trailer like a gentleman. He is a finished pickup horse as I have used him for two years at the Cody Nite Rodeo and several college rodeos. I have been heading steers on him for a year and a half. He can really watch and rate to a cow with the speed to add. He has seen every aspect of ranch work one can see. I have loaded trucks, sorted, night calved, moved cows, drug countless calves to the fire over the last four years and he takes everything in stride. My wife has been breakaway roping on Oscar recently and he has been doing a spectacular job. His natural ability to watch a cow and stop hard, makes it easy for him. Oscar has been around tarps, flags, and traffic with no issues. He has always been around dogs in the mountains or out moving cows and has gotten along with them great. Oscar is the true definition of a ranch manager’s horse. He is gentle with a willing-to-learn attitude and as a 7-year-old, he will be sure to last. Oscar is the kind of horse that will get noticed at any event. You can go branding and then take him to the jackpot later that day. Oscar is blemish free with no vices. I have really enjoyed owning this horse over the last 6.5 years. He is one of the most broke horses I have ever had the pleasure to train and ride for myself.
